Code of Ethics
It is expected that all certified consultants agree and shall comply with the CIS Certified Consultant's Code of Ethics as documented below.
Code of Ethics
Overview:
The
CIS Certified Consultant is required to deliver a service to the client
that:

Meets the aims and
objectives of the client’s regulatory requirements;
·
Meets the client’s
needs;
·
Is technically and
managerial sound;
·
Is cost effective.
The consultant’s role is
a complex and important one due to the developing relationship with the
client. The consultant’s task is to make the implementation or
conversion to CIS Software as easy as possible. They must ensure a
client understands the scope and modules of CIS Software and provide
clear training on all applicable CIS Software modules to be used by the
client.
Initial
Contact and Quotation:

The consultant should make available to the client a reference list including references from existing and past clients in the client’s industry including their CIS certification for the specific industry code;

The consultant should provide the client with a demonstration of the CIS Software with client specific examples and criteria;

The consultant should provide the client with a confidentiality agreement and a CIS Software License Agreement;

The consultant should provide the client with a clear quotation that includes:

Fair and reasonable prices for both parties;

Full estimates of travelling, hotel and other expenses included;

Full description of up-front set-up costs, training costs and continued monthly support costs;

A complete implementation and training plan including dates and time-frames.

The consultant should reinforce to the client how the CIS Software can be customized to meet their specific needs;
Project Execution:

The consultant is expected to make easy the implementation of the CIS Software system including the software set-up and applicable procedures;

The consultant shall take a leading role in the implementation while at the client’s facility;

The consultant shall complete the project in accordance with the dates and time-frames quoted;

The consultant shall contact a Master Distributor for assistance in areas that are unfamiliar;
-
The consultant shall ensure that the client meets all regulatory requirements in accordance with the scope of the quotation.
Periodic Verification:
The
consultant agrees that the CIS Technical Committee may periodically
review the consultant’s completed client systems for evaluation and to
make recommendations for improvement for future projects.
